Jeffrey Dahmer: what happened to the apartment in Milwaukee where he committed his crimes

Jeffrey Dahmer is back in the news after 30 years. In 1992 he was sentenced to 15 life sentencesnearly 900 years in prison, for homicide, rape, cannibalism, necrophilia, among other horrors, adding a total of 16 fatalities since 1978. The serial killer has returned to the media for the Netflix series entitled “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, a successful production that has generated public attention and controversy. The criminal fell in 1991 when Tracy Edwards escaped and the bodies, limbs and bones were discovered in her apartment. What happened to Dahmer’s house?

Edwards was about to become the 17th person Jeffrey Dahmer was going to torture in his home. She contacted him in a bar, during the night of July 22, 1991. She accepted 100 dollars to go to her house. In a few minutes I was already handcuffed and looking at Dahmer with a knife in his hand.

Fortunately, in a moment of distraction, managed to hit Dahmer and flee terrified from the apartment of horror. In his escape, he met policemen, who entered Dahmer’s house and found photographs, limbs, skulls and other evidence to arrest the man. “Milwaukee Cannibal”.

In this way, with all the tests, Dahmer was convicted and imprisonedwhere he was murdered, in 1994, by his cellmate Christopher Scarve on the Columbia Correctional Institution. So, there was a loose detail of this macabre story: dahmer’s house. Did anyone live there after the media case?

Jeffrey Dahmer resided in apartment 213 of 924 North 25th Street, Milwaukee, in the United States, a 49-unit complex that is uninhabited until 2022. For years, no one wanted to rent a room in that building and the residents moved elsewhere in 1995.

The place where the serial killer committed his atrocities was bought by 325 thousand dollars as a way to reorganize the neighborhoodwith the support of the Marquette University. However, no person wanted to live in the place that is fenced, as can be seen in the video of the Milwaukee Shakers of 2021.

According to local press reports, Dahmer’s apartment was emptied 15 months after the arrest of the criminal, withdrawing all kinds of rthese of the victims as well as the utensils and products that Dahmer used for their despicable deeds. The walls had blood stains and of course no one wanted to move into those facilities.

In this way, Dahmer’s house is empty, but in public view. One of the curiosities about these apartments is that they do not appear on Google Maps. In said platform, the space where the building should be only has the representation of a grass and some bushes, as you can see here.
